Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

  1. In a bid to enhance road safety, the Town of Mooresville inaugurated a four-way stop at the N. Church Street and Culp Street intersection on Jun. 27. However, concerns have been raised as some motorists have reportedly disregarded the new traffic signs. The Town and Mooresville Police Department are now calling on all drivers to exercise caution and adhere to the stop signs to ensure the well-being of all road users. (Mooresville North Carolina)
  2. Mooresville residents are in for a treat as The Counter, a cozy new deli, is set to open its doors in Lake Norman this July. Owned by seasoned restaurateurs Diane and Don Pfeil, The Counter aims to create a community hub with a mom-and-pop vibe, serving breakfast sandwiches, gourmet coffee, and partnering with local businesses like Josh’s Farmer’s Market and Queen City Pastry. With a seating capacity of just under 30 and located at 1098 Brawley School Rd, Suite G, the eatery will specialize in large gourmet sandwiches using Boar’s Head meats. It will also offer deli salads and rotating carryout dinners. (Charlotte Observer)
  3. Customers of NC Quick Pass have raised concerns over being overcharged and facing difficulties in resolving billing issues. Brad Harper, a Mooresville resident, highlighted the predicament by sharing his experience of being billed $477 and claimed that despite being promised an investigation into the erroneous charges, he received no follow-up. While the NC Turnpike Authority and I-77 Mobility Partners stated they are investigating the cases, they also urged customers to use the NC Quick Pass app or website for account information and to reach out if they have concerns.
