No More Masks At Iredell-Statesville Schools

The ISS board met Monday to vote on the decision to end a mask mandate and contact tracing.

MOORESVILLE, NC. β€” The Iredell-Statesville School System took a vote Monday and decided 4-3 that masks were no longer mandatory in schools for its 20,000 students.

Board members disagreed with each other on the topic, now a national debate as children 5-11 are eligible to get vaccinated.

The board had its disagreements, some saying children are afraid to go to class without masks, and others saying required quarantines for positive students.
