- According to a NASCAR article, "Alpha Prime Racing announced Tuesday that Julia Landauer will be making her NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 16, driving the No. 45 Boss Beauties/GarageXYZ Chevrolet for Alpha Prime Racing. With this new partnership, Boss Beauties and GarageXYZ also becomes the first NFT communities to sponsor a driver in NASCAR." (NASCAR)
- Victory Air, a private carrier, which operates out of the Statesville Regional Airport usually provides flight services to NASCAR teams, however, Sunday it was transporting a different team back home to the North Carolina, the Special Olympics team. According to an article in the Mooresville Tribune, "Bob Thompson, president of Victory Air, said the opportunity to transport the SONC athletes arose from a fundraiser at the airport three years ago." Thompson always wants to give back to the community, so providing the flight for the team worked out perfectly. (Mooresville Tribune)
- Three new bills have been signed into law in North Carolina by Gov. Roy Cooper. One increases arson punishment. Another according to a Mooresville Tribune article, "supporters say will get federally approved medicines that contain marijuana or its active ingredient quicker to those who need them. A third made changes to state laws governing captive insurance companies, which are subsidiaries of a parent company that is being insured." These are reportedly the first three bills that Gov. Cooper has received and signed since the legislature's annual work session began a month ago. (Mooresville Tribune)

- The honor of grand marshal of the 2022 City of Sturgis Motorcycle Rally has been bestowed upon NASCAR superstar Rusty Wallace. Beyond four-wheeled vehicles, Wallace and his son Stephen are reportedly equally as enamored with two-wheeled vehicles of the motorcycle kind. So much so, that they opened a premier builder of custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles called Southern Country Customs in 2019, based in Mooresville. Showcasing his love of motorcycles, Wallace will kick off the Sturgis Rally during the opening ceremonies starting at noon on Aug. 5. (Rapid City Journal)
