  1. According to Speedway Media, "Alpha Prime Racing is pleased to announce that Stefan Parsons will be returning for select races during the 2023 NASCAR XFINITY Series season. β€œIt’s a huge boost to our program to keep a driver like Stefan in the building,” said APR Vice President David Schildhouse. β€œHis talent brought some incredible results to our team in 2022 and he believes in what we are building here at APR. We look at Stefan as a core piece of our upwards growth trajectory and bringing him back to our roster was a top priority this offseason.” Parsons made 12 starts for Alpha Prime Racing in 2022 and delivered a number of outstanding performances highlighted by an 8th-place finish at Bristol. While there was a lot to celebrate in 2022, the second-generation driver feels like he’s right where he wants to be for 2023."(SpeedwayMedia.com)
  2. Just in time for the holiday weekend a winter storm has left over a million people without power. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "Tens of millions of Americans endured bone-chilling temperatures, blizzard conditions, power outages and canceled holiday gatherings Friday from a winter storm that forecasters said was nearly unprecedented in its scope, exposing about 60% of the U.S. population to some sort of winter weather advisory or warning. [And,]Nearly 3,900 flights within, into or out of the U.S. were canceled Friday, according to the tracking site FlightAware, causing more mayhem as travelers try to make it home for the holidays. Governors in at least 13 states, including Georgia and North Carolina in the South, have implemented emergency measures to respond to the storm." Stay safe be careful this holiday weekend! 3. Ray Evernham, NASCAR Hall Of Famer, is laser-focused on his program. According to WCCB Charlotte, "Ray Evernham walked away from NASCAR being his full-time job in 2008. But the Nascar Hall of Famer is just as busy now working with young adults who are on the autism spectrum. Evernham’s Ignite program helps those young adults build fulfilling lives.
β€œWe started it about ten years ago in helping our members enter into college, get driving skills, banking skills, things we assume that everyone can handle and we have had a lot of success with those people getting jobs and being able to get their drivers license, working toward living independently.” The disorder hits close to home. β€œIgnite and other things have started in honor of my son Raymond John who is on the Autism spectrum. And you know I am not a golfer, not a fisherman, not a bowler, right, so what do we do. We do cars.” Evernham took his passion for cars and started a car show called Americarna Live 10 years ago. The first year they raised 40-thousand dollars. This year, they raised 500-thousand dollars. That money will fund all three of Ignite’s clubhouses for the next year.
