- Due to Hurricane Ian, The Symphony Under the Stars concert featuring the Lake Norman Philharmonic has been rescheduled for Friday, October 14 at 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Liberty Park.
According to the Mooresville website, "this outdoor concert will feature the Lake Norman Philharmonic, (LKN Phil), a registered, nonprofit community orchestra founded and conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño. The LKN Phil is comprised of community musicians and is open to local instrumentalists desiring to share their talent and perform orchestral music that enhances performing arts in communities surrounding the Lake Norman, North Carolina region. Website: http://www.eduardocedeno.net Enjoy a diverse set-list, gourmet food truck, and beverages from 6:30-8:30 p.m. (food truck opens at 6 p.m.) at Liberty Park Amphitheatre! (Mooresville NC) - On Tuesday, October 4 the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame and the Town of Mooresville will present, “The Mooresville Motorsports Celebration.” Indy Car Champion Rick Mears and Drag Racing's Doug Herbert will be honored. There will be a presentation of in-ground plaques at the Mooresville Walk of Fame in front of the Charles Mack Citizens Center. According to a Mooresville Chamber of Commerce Facebook page post, “this year’s celebration is going to be very special,” said Don Miller, chairman of the Board of Directors of the NC Auto Racing Hall of Fame. “We will be celebrating our 28th year of honoring the finest drivers in all of motorsports and the Walk of Fame expands its role for the 13th year. Mooresville is the absolute center of racing and the home of many of its famous personalities. We need to preserve this heritage.”'(Mooresville Chamber of Commerce via Facebook)
- According to WBTV, "the North Carolina Attorney General’s Office has officially launched a formal investigation into Pink Energy/Power Home Solar.The solar company based out of Mooresville previously laid off its employees after thousands of complaints and significant lost revenue. Less than a week later, the Ohio Attorney General filed a lawsuit against Pink Energy, alleging they used deceptive and unconscionable tactics on Ohio consumers and poorly installed solar panel systems. The North Carolina Attorney General’s Office has yet to provide additional information on the ongoing investigation. The lawsuit from the Ohio AG requests that a judge issue a permanent injunction against Pink Energy and its officers to prevent them from selling and installing solar panels in the future. It also seeks an order requiring Pink Energy to “reimburse all consumers found to have been damaged” by Pink’s “unlawful actions.”' (WBTV)
