- The Mooresville Library said in a recent Facebook post that everyone is invited to join together for the premiere of, "Black Mooresville: The Untold Story" on February 11, at 2 p.m. at the Charles Mack Citizen Center. This free showing will include guest speakers, memorabilia, and time for fellowship. The 60-minute documentary captures the history of the Black community of Mooresville through interviews with residents who shared their memories of growing up in Mooresville. It was created in honor of the 150th birthday of Mooresville, and is being presented by the Town, the Mooresville Public Library, and the Celebration History Committee. Directed and produced by Iredell County Television's Shawn Eckles with narrators Reverend Curtis Johnson, Reverend Gavin Gabriel and Sharnetta Clark-Gordon. If you can't make it to the event, the film in its entirety, as well as the individual interviews and many of the photographs, will be made available online through the Mooresville Public Library Local History & Archives website at a later date. - Did you know that February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month? Mooresville Police Department wants to draw parents’ attention to this intimate partner violence that can affect their children. According to MPD, TDV involves physical and sexual violence, psychological aggression, and stalking. If you believe your child is in a Teen Dating Violence situation, contact the Love is Respect National Teen Dating Abuse Hotline. - In an effort to intensify Legacy Motor Club's racing competition operations and marketing and business team several changes have been made to lead employee positions including; Bruce J. Mosley being seated as LMC's President of Business Operations, John Lewensten, seated as Senior Vice President of Partnership Services and Joey Cohen, (current LMC Director of Competition and Engineering), being promoted to Vice President, Racing Operations.
