Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:

  1. Congratulations to South Elementary School Teacher of the Year, Angie Godbout and Beginning Teacher of the Year, Kennedi Cobb! These two have been selected by their peers to represent South Elementary School for their phenomenal dedication to educating every child, every day! According to a Facebook post from the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, "South TOY Ms. Angie Godbout teaches second grade. She approaches education with the mindset that it involves more than just teaching. She strives to provide a safe and caring learning environment where students can be successful by building relationships with her students, as well as helping students building peer relationships. South BTOY Ms. Kennedi Cobb teaches Kinder South Stars. Her philosophy of instruction is that every child has a unique and distinct way of learning, and she has a responsibility to connect with each child not only on an educational level, but a personal level as well. By doing this, she can help them grow. She hopes as an educator that she can instill a passion for learning in her students just as teachers in her life did. (Facebook)
  2. According to a stlracing.com article, "Thursday night’s clash of Nick Hoffman and Mike Harrison at Fayette County Speedway was another one for the record books. At the drop of the green, Hoffman got the jump into the lead and began playing defense against Harrison’s big run on the top. Though Harrison gave it everything the car had on the top, he was unable to catch Hoffman in the end. Hoffman cruised across the stripe for his 66th career Summit Modified victory and ninth of the season in 11 starts." Congratulations again, Nick!(stlracing.com)
