1. Honor a veteran, help someone you don't know and do good! There will be a blood drive today to honor local veterans and to help people in need. The Big Red Bus is parked along Main Street as part of the Second Annual Veterans Celebration Blood Drive.You can donate blood from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in front of Welcome Home Veterans Living Military Museum (165 N. 2. Four Mooresville Police Department officers were sworn in recently: Officer Billy Fox, Jr., Officer Allison Stahl, Officer Alan Cheenand Detective Duke Cooper. MPD also celebrated the promotions of Detective Garron Lawing to sergeant, Corporal Jordan Compton to sergeant, Officer Ellie Saladino to detective, Officer Skyler Isenhower to detective and Officer Steve Sharpe to corporal. 3. The Town of Mooresville has an update to the Veterans Day Parade, which is set to happen in Downtown Mooresville. 5. On or by December 31, American Merchandising Specialists Inc., based in Mooresville, has plans to cut 115 jobs across the United States. The company informed the N.C. Commerce Department of the decision. According to Winton-Salem Journal, "the workforce reduction involves the company’s AMS Retail Solutions business unit. “The reason for this layoff is due to a loss of our client, who has decided to merge with its competitor and continue service in-house, thereby eliminating third-party assistance,” the company said in a notice. The company listed the job cuts as being 84 field service representatives, 20 merchandisers, eight regional lead officials and three part-time accounting representatives." (Winston-Salem Journal)
