  1. Did a tornado hit Lake Norman? Damage from "tornado like winds" occurred near Lake Norman north of Charlotte Saturday. According to Yahoo News, "toppled trees suggest a tornado could have raced across southern Iredell County near Lake Norman Saturday morning, a National Weather Service meteorologist said. The NWS received a report of trees felled on Newbury Drive, off Faith Road, meteorologist Jake Wimberley of the NWS office in Greer, South Carolina, told The Charlotte Observer." (Yahoo News)
