• County Rescue Mission Repeatedly Denied Funds (legalreader.com) — Richmond County Rescue Mission, the only homeless shelter on Rockingham’s east side, has repeatedly been denied any share of local opioid settlement funds despite serving an area hit hardest by overdoses and poverty. Volunteers keep the mission running as it provides shelter, food, and recovery support, while some county leaders question why its well-supported funding requests continue to be rejected.
