• Shirley Carter Stevens (cityviewnc.com) — A relative of Seagrove resident Lou Sweeney, Shirley Carter Stevens, has passed away at age 98 and will be remembered at a memorial service in Fayetteville on December 19. Her life was marked by devotion to family, church, and neighbors, from sewing her daughters’ clothes to delivering meals and flowers to those in need. Friends are invited to honor her and may donate to First Presbyterian Church’s sanctuary renovation fund.
