• Temporary DMV office expected to open in Brunswick County in February (wect.com) — Shallotte currently has the only driver services DMV office in Brunswick County, but a new temporary DMV in Leland is expected to open in February 2026 to ease long waits. The modular facility at NCDOT’s Belville Bridge Yard will handle both driver and vehicle services, with nine terminals, seven staffers, and weekday hours while a permanent Leland-area site is evaluated.
