• Wendell man ID'd among Neo-Nazi group stopped after rally at Arkansas Capitol (wakeweekly.com) — A man identified as being from Shelby was among several North Carolinians documented by Arkansas police after attending a neo-Nazi rally at the Arkansas State Capitol earlier this month. Officers stopped a U-Haul leaving the event, cited the driver for safety violations, and recorded the passengers’ names after hearing Nazi chants inside the truck.

• Strip club near Charlotte hit with liquor violations for ‘fondling' and drugs (charlotteobserver.com) — A Shelby resident was among three people charged after a state investigation into liquor and drug violations at the Leather & Lace strip club in nearby Gastonia. North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents documented alleged drug sales in the parking lot, after-hours drinking, and rule-breaking conduct by dancers, leading to potential fines and a possible suspension of the club’s liquor license.
