• Sunset Beach fires town administrator, attorney (newsargus.com) — Sunset Beach’s town council has fired Town Administrator Lisa Anglin for cause and replaced its longtime town attorney with a new Wilmington-based law firm after a closed session Wednesday. Police Chief Ken Klamar has been appointed interim town administrator while continuing to lead the police department, and officials have not yet disclosed details behind the personnel decisions.
   

• Here's how population in Brunswick impacts transportation planning (starnewsonline.com subscription) — Brunswick County leaders are exploring whether the county can form its own transportation planning organization, which could give towns like Sunset Beach more direct influence over road priorities and funding.
