Art Sessions by Courtney
About
Each time children get out their art supplies,
they are ready for another adventure. It’s an
expedition into their inner world where they
discover and sort out the ideas and feelings
about who they are and develop critical
thinking skills. This is a process based art
class where we will discuss and see works by
artists relevant to each lesson, and create
small scale personal works.

Instructor
Courtney Cotton
Born 1968 | American | she/her
BA, Fine Arts – USC, 1990
Courtney is a professional artist living and working in Landrum, SC, with a pilot studio in Boulder, CO.
She values a curious, courageous & creative life, and has worked across fine arts, architecture, design, and non-profit fields. Mother of 3, she looks
forward to more time with family in Charlotte, NC, where she grew up, and creating the best art of her life in her new Landrum, SC studio.
I hold a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of South Carolina and am a professional artist. Ethal Messica invited me to begin teaching at Tryon Yoga Center, and I’m excited to create a dynamic and inspiring program there.
In the past, I’ve worked with students of all ages—including one I mentored privately for over four years until she left for university, and another young artist just beginning his college journey. Earlier in my career, I also founded a company called Art Class.
