• West Jefferson adjusts ETJ boundary (ashepostandtimes.com) — West Jefferson officials have voted to shrink the town’s extraterritorial jurisdiction near the Dogget Road area off N.C. 88, shifting some oversight back to Ashe County. While most ETJ residents will see no change, some affected homeowners worry county control could allow more unregulated development, especially on rocky lots that currently require special town permits and protections.
