Here are the top three stories in Wilmington today:
- Devon Allman and Donavon Frankenreiter are set to visit Wilmington as part of their historic See It All American Tour on Friday, Aug. 18. The two are attempting to set a world record for playing 50 shows in 50 states in under 50 days, and Greenfield Lake Amphitheater is one of the locations honored to be a part of this historic attempt. The tickets for this show will be going on sale on the Live Nation website this Friday, but you can also purchase them on Fridays at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion Box Office. Allman and Frankenreiter will also be joined by JD Simo for the Wilmington show. (WECT)
- This Thursday, the UNCW Spring 2023 Senior Exhibition art gallery will be opening to the public with a public reception at the Cultural Arts Building Art Gallery at 5:30 p.m. The gallery will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. showcasing 30 graduating Studio Arts students' artwork, both two and three-dimensional. This is the largest Studio Arts class to date for the university, and the university is proud to showcase the students' hard work through May 12. The exhibition is completely free to the public and the university welcomes all those interested to come to take a look. (WWAY NewsChannel 3)
- Wilmington police are currently investigating the finding of a body at Godwin Baseball Stadium. Officers were called to report to the stadium just before 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning regarding the body. At this time, there are still more details to be identified and released, such as the identification of the deceased individual as well as the cause of death. (WECT)
