Here are the top three stories in Wilmington today:

  1. Maides Park hosted its first community meetup to discuss free and low-cost health and wellness resources. A community meeting will occur each month on the first Monday of the month until August and will cover a wide spectrum of topics. Each meeting will feature a guest speaker ready to answer questions from the public. (WECT)
  2. Just outside of Wilmington, in Leland, police are asking for help in identifying a man who stole $1,500 from a Walmart register last week. The suspect is described as male, possibly Caucasian or Hispanic. He was last seen wearing a black or grey sweatshirt with the word "BASQUIAT," jean pants, and Croc shoes.   3. Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Career Program takes students behind the scenes at a local film studio. This week, in the final segment of the Chamber's 10-month Career and Leadership Development Academy, 41 seventh graders will get to see what goes into the production of a film or television show at Wilmington's Dark Horse Studios.
