1. Wilmington man suspected of fatally shooting wife arrested (starnewsonline.com subscription) — Wilmington police say a 58-year-old local man was arrested Friday night after a woman was fatally shot at a Bladen Street residence. Investigators from Wilmington’s Criminal Investigation Division and Gun Crimes Unit, along with state and federal partners, tracked the suspect down on Castle Street. He is being held in the New Hanover County jail without bond as the homicide case proceeds.
   

2. Man pleads guilty to drunk driving crash injuring three teenagers (wwaytv3.com) — A Wilmington man has pleaded guilty in a drunk driving crash on Carolina Beach Road in Monkey Junction that injured three local teenagers, including a 16-year-old with multiple serious fractures. He’ll serve at least a year in prison after admitting to drinking heavily before rear-ending their stopped car, with bystanders and an ambulance crew rushing in to help at the scene.
   

3. Saniya Rivers has jersey retired by Ashley (wwaytv3.com) — A Wilmington native and Ashley High School alum, WNBA player Saniya Rivers just had her No. 22 jersey retired in a special ceremony at the school. Rivers, who starred at South Carolina and NC State, says she’s grateful to represent Wilmington and hopes her journey from local gyms to the pros shows young players here that they can follow the same path.
   

4. Wilmington man sentenced for breaking into the same home twice (wwaytv3.com) — A Wilmington man has been sentenced to at least eight years in prison after admitting he twice broke into the same local apartment, stole a car, and used the victim’s credit cards. Wilmington police tracked the stolen vehicle using surveillance video, leading to his arrest and resolution of the case for the New Hanover County victim.
