π± Collision Leaves Two Teens Injured + Former Teacher Sentenced

- A collision involving a Winston-Salem Transportation Authority bus and a stolen vehicle left two teenagers with serious injuries over the weekend. Police responded to the incident on Saturday, Aug. 12 around 9:45 a.m. at Brownsboro Road and Linn Station Road. Investigators say the Hyundai - which had been reported stolen earlier that morning - failed to stop at a stop sign. The Hyundai collided with the bus, causing life-threatening injuries for the driver and serious injuries for the passenger. Both juveniles were transported to the hospital for treatment. (Fox 8)
- A former Winston-Salem teacher pleaded guilty last week to attempting to aid a minor in possessing a gun on educational property. Court records indicate that Sarah Melissa Wilson, 29, received a suspended sentence of 30 days to six months in custody and 24 hours of community service. In May 2019, Wilson was accused of having a .25-caliber handgun that had been brought to her by a 14-year-old male student. Police said that Wilson let the handgun remain in her classroom and allowed the student to retrieve it after school. (Subscription: Winston-Salem Journal)
- The Winston-Salem Police are asking for the community's assistance as they search for a missing 29-year-old woman. Ambrosia Evans left Forsyth Hospital at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13. Evans was described as having "mental issues," and her current whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information is asked to call the Winston-Salem Police Department at 336-773-7700. (WFMY News)
