🌱 Two Injured In Winston-Salem Shooting + Fatal Townhouse Fire

  1. Two individuals were injured in a shooting incident at the Salem Garden Apartments in Winston-Salem, prompting a police investigation. A 42-year-old man and a 19-year-old were found with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The authorities apprehended Stephon Albright, identified as the suspect, in possession of a rifle, while Mekeal Binns was arrested in connection with the incident, and both were charged with multiple offenses including assault and possession of a firearm by a felon. The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Winston-Salem Police Department. (FOX 8)
  2. Camel City Playhouse is putting a fresh twist on Shakespeare with two one-act plays, "Shakespeare's Dead Dames" and "How to Survive Being in a Shakespeare Play." These "Saturday Night Live" style performances will be held in Winston-Salem on May 26 at 7:00 p.m. Additional showtimes and ticket prices can be found on their website. (WXII12 Winston-Salem)
  3. Police are currently investigating a townhouse fire that engulfed townhomes on the 5300 block of Summit Heights Drive on the evening of Monday, May 22. Police were called to the scene to assist fire department personnel around 11:00 p.m. and found the remains of Paul Rutledge, 76, in his townhouse. Rutledge is the only person to have been found at the scene of the fire; however, three people who lived in the building have been displaced. (WXII12 Winston-Salem)
