1. 12-year-old boy reported missing in Winston-Salem (myfox8.com) — Police are asking Winston-Salem residents to help find 12-year-old Massiah King Neal, last seen Tuesday around 5 p.m. on the 4100 block of Indiana Avenue. He’s believed to be on foot, and authorities have released a detailed clothing description and multiple phone numbers for anyone who may have information.
   

2. Shooting on Royal Forest Court leaves two injured, including a child (abc45.com) — A child is in critical condition and an adult is injured after a domestic-related shooting on Royal Forest Court in Winston-Salem, where police say everyone involved knew each other. Officers quickly rendered aid, arrested one person on a firearm charge, and report no ongoing threat to the wider community. Investigators are still piecing together what led up to the gunfire.
   

3. Winston-Salem Amphitheater Project needs City Council to pass a new noise ordinance to book acts (wxii12.com) — Winston-Salem’s planned amphitheater can’t start booking shows until City Council approves a clearer, measurable noise ordinance. Project leaders say they’ve already done onsite audio testing and are working with the city, expecting the ordinance issue to be resolved sometime in early to mid-2026.
   

4. New Ascension priest starts on Jan. 1 - Davie County Enterprise Record (ourdavie.com) — A new Episcopal priest serving Church of the Ascension at Fork will soon be living in Winston-Salem, as the Rev. George Sherrill and his wife relocate here before he starts Jan. 1. Sherrill, an experienced pastor with a background in recycling management, says he’ll bring a laid-back style and collaborative approach as he follows interim priest Rev. Joan Peacock.
   

5. Big Brothers, Big Sisters mentor children in Triad (myfox8.com) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Forsyth and Davie Counties is urgently seeking more adult volunteers, especially men, to mentor local kids, with support from the Winston-Salem Foundation. Matches meet about an hour a week for simple activities that build trust and guidance. More than 150 children are currently waiting for a “Big” in the Triad.
