- The Winston-Salem Police Department is asking for the public's help to locate missing 39-year-old Christina Nicole Brower, also known as Tina Shillingburg. Brower was last seen on Jul. 27 when hospital transportation dropped her off on Salem Valley Road. Police do not know where she may have traveled to. Brower is about five feet, five inches with brown hair and green eyes. She weighs around 150 pounds and has piercings on her lip and nose. Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 336-773-7700. (WXII)
- The CEO of the Winston-Salem Housing Authority spoke at the city council meeting on Monday, Sep. 18. Residents and housing advocates have criticized the agency over conditions at Crystal Towers, a public housing complex. Housing Authority CEO Kevin Cheshire assured the crowd at Monday's meeting that the agency has a plan to complete repairs at the property, blaming the delay on labor shortages and supply chain issues on the delay. He said that contractors have been scheduled to replace one of the building's elevators in November. (WFDD)
- According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, two people have been arrested in connection to a shooting that occurred on Aug. 27. The shooting took place on Grove Avenue, and according to investigators, multiple rounds were fired into a home, leaving one person with non-life-threatening injuries. The department's Violent Fiream Investigations Team and SWAT team arrested Lyndon Weatherby Sheff, 18, and charged him with multiple felony counts, including assault with a deadly weapon. The police later arrested Dequan Shaquille Sheff, who is also facing multiple felony charges. (My Fox 8)
