- Winston-Salem police are searching for a suspect who is accused of robbing a Dollar Tree store this past Saturday. The suspect reportedly entered the Dollar Tree on the 3000 block of Waughtown Street and showed a pistol as they robbed the business. The suspect was last seen running through the parking lot and escaping the scene in a silver sedan. If you or anyone you know may have any information on the suspect please contact the Winston-Salem Police Department or Crime Stoppers. (WXII12 Winston-Salem)
- A Thomasville mother organized a fundraiser on Saturday to pay tribute to her 15-year-old son, who tragically lost his life in a shooting the previous week. Kimberly Redwine Turner expressed her deep sorrow over the incident, emphasizing the importance of teaching children about gun safety. The event included a benefit ride and various activities, such as food, merchandise sales, and a raffle, to raise funds for Dallas Redwine's funeral expenses and honor his memory. - Noree L. Staton, 19, of High Point, is facing new charges after being accused of peeping in the women's bathroom at a nearby Food Lion supermarket last week. This adds to the list of businesses that Staton has now been banned from over the past few weeks, including a Harris Teeter store, Target, Waffle House, and YMCA. Although he isn't facing charges at any of the establishments other than Harris Teeter and Food Lion, officers are making a point to have members of the community aware of his recent habits and are requesting to be alerted if anything else occurs. He is currently out on bond and scheduled to appear before a court for his most recent charge. (Subscription: The Charlotte Observer)
