- Police were contacted around noon Thursday that someone had been stabbed near the 100 block of East Hanes Mill Road. When officers arrived they located one person lying in the road and suffering from multiple stab wounds. This has led to an ongoing investigation and authorities have notified the public of a large police presence in the area for now. (WFMY 2 News)
- GOLFTEC, a premiere name in the golfing world, has opened a new 2,950-square-foot golf instruction and club fitting center in Winston-Salem. The facility features four indoor bays equipped with industry-leading launch monitors and motion tracking technology, an indoor putting green, and a custom club fitting program. The center will be led by Center Manager and Director of Instruction Matt Hall, who has given over 3,000 lessons during his career. (First Call Golf)
- The cities of Greensboro and Winston-Salem have both passed resolutions opposing House Bill 470, which would establish Civil Service Boards to handle city employee disciplinary appeals and grievances. Supporters of the bill say Civil Service Boards increase transparency and ensure due process, while opponents argue it undermines city authority and is redundant. Local city workers are concerned with and believe circumstances vary from employee to employee. (WFDD)
