Here are the top three stories today in Winston-Salem:

  1. Starting today (Jul. 21) drivers can expect lane changes and detours due to road work. This morning at 9:00 a.m., the eastbound lanes on I-74 will be shifted onto a temporary detour between the interchanges at Ridgewood Road and Union Cross Road. This detour will be in place while a new bridge and travel lanes are constructed. On I-40, the eastbound ramp at Union Cross Road will be closed for 30 days due to a widening project.   2. On Monday, Jul. 24, the Triad Cultural Arts and Arts Council will present a free program called, β€œCelebrating 50 Years of Hip Hop with 9th Wonder: A Master Class and Panel Discussion.” The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and is open to the public, although attendees are required to reserve tickets in advance. The event's featured artist and Winston-Salem native 9th Wonder will lead a master class. There will also be a Q&A panel with guests Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough, NC A&T Professor Bryan Turman, among others. (The Chronicle)
  3. Art Crush is returning to Winston-Salem today (Jul. 21)! This event takes place on the third Friday of each month. An arts-themed block party will take over Sixth and Trade Streets from 7:00-10:00 p.m. with activities, music, and vendors. Click here to learn more. (News & Record)
