  1. According to the Winston-Salem Police Department, 20 people were involved in a bar fight in the early morning hours of Saturday, Sep. 16. The incident occurred at the Thirsty Pallet Bar, but the suspects left the premises before police arrived. Police determined that the brawl erupted from an argument between two people. One member of the bar's security personnel was injured from punches, kicks, and being hit with a chair. Police Chief William Penn, Jr. said that the department is working to "identify and arrest" all individuals involved in the incident. (WFMY)
  2. The City of Winston-Salem is set to add nearly 300 security cameras to sites across the city. These cameras will be in addition to the 500 cameras that the city already manages. All of these cameras will feed video to the police department's Real Time Crime Center. The city council approved the $900,000 project on Sep. 18, and funding will come from the city's operating budget, capital budget, as well as funds from the 2018 Bond Project. (Triad City Beat)
  3. On Sunday, Sep. 24, Winston-Salem police officers engaged in a chase that resulted in two minors being taken into custody. The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m. when a shooting suspect attempted to flee from police officers. The chase ended at Old Lexington Road and East Monmouth Street, where a patrol car and the suspect's vehicle collided. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and an officer was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Two minors were taken into official custody, and officers also seized drugs and a firearm. (My Fox 8)
