• Utility construction sparks worries about live oak tree damage on Salisbury Street (wwaytv3.com) — Live oak trees along Salisbury Street in Wrightsville Beach are at the center of residents’ concerns as Cape Fear Public Utility Authority trenches for a new water main. The town says it’s meeting with CFPUA this week and bringing in an arborist to monitor and protect the trees while work continues.
   

• Jimmy's bar hosts annual bike drive to donate bikes to children in need (wwaytv3.com) — A Wrightsville Beach favorite, Jimmy’s bar, just wrapped up its eighth annual bike drive, collecting nearly 1,800 bikes for kids in need. Donations from the bar will go to schools, charities, and children’s homes across North Carolina, with a new partnership even extending help to children in Louisiana.
   

• North Carolina Azalea Festival unveils official artwork for 2026 (wwaytv3.com) — Wrightsville Beach residents now have a first look at the official artwork for the 2026 North Carolina Azalea Festival, unveiled locally this week. Created by Wilmington native Elizabeth Sheats, the piece highlights familiar oak-lined streetscapes and aims to evoke peace and hope ahead of the April 8–12 celebration.
