Matthew Winslow, a local homebuilder and three-term legislator, will not seek reelection in 2026. He plans to focus on family and his Youngsville-based business while backing Republican Cory Thornton for his Franklin- and Vance-county seat, which Democrat Mark Speed is also seeking.
