• Wake plans to drop five enrollment caps, add one in eastern Wake (wral.com) — Families in Zebulon should know that Wake County may add an enrollment cap at Zebulon Magnet Elementary, which is already 18% over capacity and out of room for trailers. The plan would send overflow students to Wakelon Elementary in Zebulon, where two more trailers are coming, while Carver Elementary in Wendell also takes additional students until a new Marshburn Elementary opens around 2030. 
• 1 found dead in 3-alarm house fire in Zebulon, officials say (cbs17.com) — A person was found dead after a three-alarm house fire late Tuesday morning on Mitchell Mill Road in Zebulon, drawing crews from both Zebulon and Rolesville. Firefighters and sheriff’s deputies kept the rural Wake County road active for hours as they contained the blaze and managed traffic, and officials say no one else was inside the home.
