The lake’s “Perch Capital of the World” reputation and strong walleye and pike fishing continue to boost local tourism and business, putting Devils Lake firmly on visiting anglers’ radar. 
• Cardinal Girls Fall to Top Ranked Wildcats (newsdakota.com) — Devils Lake will host Carrington’s Region 2A girls basketball opener Thursday night, with local radio coverage starting around 6:45 p.m. The matchup follows Carrington’s tight 34–33 home loss to top-ranked Benson County, where the Cardinals twice had late chances to win but came up just short.
