Local leaders explain how restored SNAP benefits, upcoming food restrictions, and eligibility changes could shift more pressure onto area food shelves in the coming months.
   

2. Valley Middle School staff member charged with soliciting explicit images from students (valleynewslive.com) — A Valley Middle School classroom specialist in Grand Forks has been arrested after police say the employee solicited sexually explicit images from students, prompting a felony investigation. Officers searched the suspect’s Grand Forks home, the State’s Attorney is weighing a Class A felony charge, and investigators urge any affected students to talk with parents and contact police.
   

3. Grand Forks man charged with aggravated assault in shelter attack (valleynewslive.com) — A 50-year-old Grand Forks man is jailed on a felony aggravated assault charge after police say he repeatedly hit another man with a wooden chair during a fight at The Link homeless shelter on Cherry Street. The victim suffered serious head cuts and broken teeth and was treated at Altru Hospital, while the suspect remains in custody at the Grand Forks County Corrections Center.
   

4. East Grand Forks Police Department attempting to identify vehicle of interest in property damage and theft (grandforksherald.com) — East Grand Forks police are asking area residents to help identify a black 2007–2013 Chevrolet Silverado linked to a Dec. 4 property damage and theft near Sacred Heart School. Investigators shared photos and video of the truck and urge anyone with information to call the department or review the images through the city’s online file-sharing site.
