Does your home have working carbon monoxide and smoke alarms? Is your home fire safe? Did you know that the Akron Fire Department also does home fire safety inspections? If you answered "no" to any or all of these questions, please call the Akron Fire Department today at 330.375.2211 to schedule a free home fire safety inspection including carbon monoxide and smoke alarm installations. If you do have smoke detectors, please follow the following instructions:

  • Test monthly
  • Change batteries every six months
  • Replace detectors every 10 years
  • Have at least one detector on every level of your home
  • When alarm sounds, go outside and stay outside
