2 SUVs Stolen From Homes In Avon Lake: Police

Investigators are looking into the thefts of two SUVs from outside Avon Lake homes.

AVON LAKE, OH — Two cars were stolen from outside homes in Avon Lake in recent weeks, according to police reports.

On July 29, at 2:30 a.m., 911 callers reported seeing a suspicious car near Avon Point Avenue and Walker Road. When officers arrived in the area, the car sped away.

Police later identified the owner of the vehicle, who said it had been stolen from her driveway.

Later that day, a resident on Muirfield Drive discovered their SUV had been stolen from out of their driveway. The vehicle has been entered into a stolen car database, police said.

In a similar incident, on July 25, a man's wallet was stolen from his car while it was parked outside overnight. The car was not locked at the time of the theft, police said. That theft occurred on Greenbriar Drive.
