1. Avon Lake City Schools congratulates its 2022 Sports Hall of Fame inductees! An Avon Lake City Schools Facebook page post states, "We are honored to recognize these outstanding individuals and teams for induction into the Avon Lake Sports Hall of Fame. The inductees are Rebecca (Sandor) Hammermeister, Leslie Mahl, Andrew Means, Katie (Nowak) Snyder and Trey Stross. Teams being honored are Christine and Nikki Chiricosta (tennis) and the 2007 Avon Lake Shoreman football team." Congratualtions! (Avon Lake City Schools via Facebook)
2. According to cleveland.com, "the annual Avon Lake Homecoming Parade will take place at 10:30 a.m. September 24. The parade begins at Bleser Park and ends at Avon Lake High School. The committee is looking for parade entries. Groups can walk, have vehicles or build floats. The school district is celebrating its centennial anniversary. 3. Mark your calendars if you want to attend the next Avon-Avon Lake Republican Club Friends Breakfast. It will take place from 8 to 9 a.m. on October 5 at the Sugar Creek Restaurant, 5195 Detroit Road in the Sheffield Village Plaza. According to The Mourning Journal, "Ron Kaminski will present “The Politics of Climate Change in America.” Those interested can learn something new and participate in a casual free exchange of ideas about current positions with like-minded and concerned candidates, officials and neighbors every first Wednesday, according to a news release. Guests are welcomed and attendees are responsible for their meals." (The Morning Journal)
