A Hoe, A Crown and a Broken Record: Troop Cleans Up For A Cause

Trash from MetroPark fills 25 bags.

Avon Lake Girl Scout troop 50106’s fifth-grade troop cleaned up Kopf Family Reservation recently to complete their Journey award.

Troop members met at the library to learn about Shred Day and brought documents for processing. Afterwards, the girls spent almost two hours combing through Kopf Family Reservation's woods in Avon Lake, collecting trash, filling more than 25 bags of trash including paper, glass and plastic.

Some of the more interesting things they found were an old hoe, aluminum chair, a broken record, a crown, golf and tennis balls.
