Andrew Davis Homers, But Crushers Lose Again

Loss is second straight after 10-game win streak was snapped Saturday

The are starting another streak. The bad kind.

The Crushers lost their second straight game on Sunday, 7-6, to the Evansville Otters in Evansville, Ind.

After falling behind 5-0, the team reported, the Crushers rallied. Andrew Davis hit a three-run homer in the fifth to get the Crushers within two, 6-4. They tied the game in the sixth inning as Chris Luick hit an RBI triple and came home on Kyle Shaffer's sacrifice fly.

But Evansville scored in the bottom of the inning, and the Crushers weren't able to rally again.

Jereme Milons had two hits for the Crushers.

Kelyn Schellenberg (3-2, 1.92 earned run average) gave up one run on three hits over two-thirds of an inning and took the loss.

The Crushers (40-37) have Monday off before beginning a critical three-game series at the Traverse City Beach Bums on Tuesday. The Crushers and Beach Bums are battling for the second and final playoff spot in the Frontier League Eastern Division.
