
Randy Sturgill pitched six solid innings and the ' offense came alive in the fifth inning as they beat the Washington Wild Things, 4-1, Tuesday night in Washington, Pa.
Sturgill raised his record to 4-0, the team reported, after he gave up a run in the first and that was it. He allowed three hits on the night. Ruben Flores got his 12th save on the season, pitching a perfect ninth inning.
The Crushers had six straight hits and scored three runs in the fifth to break a 1-1 tie. Kyle Shaffer started the inning off well with a solo home run. Andrew Davis later tripled to drive in Jereme Milons. Kellen Kulbacki then singled home Davis.

Davis finished with two doubles, a triple and two RBI. Jason Taylor had three hits.
The Crushers (28-30) have won three of their last four games. They wrap up the series against the Wild Things Tuesday with an 11:05 a.m. game. Thomas Campbell (0-0, 2.84 earned run average) is scheduled to start for the Crushers.
