Here are the top three stories in Avon-Avon Lake today:

1. According to The Mourning Journal article, "the Avon Eagles hired Mark Jayne, one of the greatest wrestlers to hail from Lorain County, as its new varsity wrestling coach. Jayne grew up in Elyria before attending St. Edward High School. He finished fourth in the state as a freshman in the 1997 Division I state meet before rattling off three straight titles from 1998-2000. His senior season was dominant. He pinned every opponent from the sectional tournament through to his third and final state crown. Jayne was a two-time All-American at the University of Illinois, where he captured the Big Ten title at 133 pounds and helped the Illini to the 2005 Big Ten wrestling championship." 2. Saturday contraceptive clinics will be offered by the Cleveland Clinic at Avon Pointe Medical Outpatient Center, 36901 American Way, Avon starting July 23. They are meant to provide contraceptive options to women and increase access and remove barriers to contraception, the health system said Thursday, according to a cleveland.com article. The clinics will be open to women ages 14 and up, as well as clinic patients and non-patients. Appointments are required. Schedule an appointment by calling 216-444-6601. (cleveland.com)
3. Construction update! Beginning Monday, July 18, the South drives and lots at Avon Lake High School will re-open and the North Lot will close for repairs/repaving. Please plan according and take an alternate route if needed. (Facebook)
