Avon Football Opener a Thrill for Players and Fans

Avon was in the national spotlight Thursday night, as the football opener against was on Fox Sports.

The stadium at was jam-packed. Avon athletic director Eric Frombach said that the crowd was estimated at 5,300.

Fans got there hours before kickoff, holding tailgating parties and enjoying the scene.

And the Eagles gave them something cheer about, taking advantage of early Avon Lake turnovers to build a 24-0 halftime lead en route to a 38-7 win.
