Avon High Students Honored by National Merit Program
Emily Herrmann and Kevin Manouchehri named as Commended Students

Two seniors earned an honor from the National Merit Program.
Kevin Manouchehri and Emily Hermann were named Commended Students by the organization, which honors academic achievement and awards scholarships.
To be a commended student, one must score in the top 50,000 students out of 1.5 million who took the PSAT/NMSQT.

"I guess we did pretty good," Herrmann said of the PSAT.
Herrmann hopes to attend Miami University, and plans to major in physics.

Manouchehri, who recently completed his senior season with the Avon High soccer team, wants to study engineering. He is looking at the University of California at Berkley, Carnegie Mellon and the University of Michigan.
