Avon Snapshot: Sign of the Season at Fitch's

Farm market still offering pick-your-own produce

Summer is waning, and a sure sign that fall is on the way are the plethora of pumpkins at on Center Road.

Fitch's will start its weekend wagon rides to pick your own pumpkins in October. Dates are Oct. 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. each of those days. Admission is $6 per rider with one pumpkin.

And there's still summer produce available. With the fields dried out after last week's rains, you can now pick your own tomatoes and peppers as long as they last or until the first frost. The first concord grapes of the season are available in the store.
