Here are the top three stories today in Avon-Avon Lake:

1. Plan accordingly residents! Starting Monday, September 19, Redwood Boulevard between SR83 (Avon Belden Road) and Brookfield Road in Avon Lake will be closed to thru traffic. According to a Facebook post on the Avon Lake Regional Water page, "the daily closure will be from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for waterline replacement work on Redwood Boulevard. This infrastructure work is expected to last approximately two weeks." (Avon Lake Regional Water via Facebook)
2. Avon Lake City Schools Food Service Department is seeking substitutes to work in the school kitchens. According to a Facebook post on the Avon Lake City Schools page, "the hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., depending on what school you are needed at. Join the Food Service Team! 3. According to an article on cleveland.com, "a daycare worker is facing criminal charges after police say she picked up a toddler and then dropped him to the ground, causing him to fracture his leg. Emily Coghlan, 21, of Grafton, is charged with endangering children and assault, a news release from Avon Lake police said. She was arraigned Thursday in Avon Lake Municipal Court. The mother of the 14-month-old boy contacted police Monday, saying her child was injured while at Sweet Kiddles childcare center. Police said officials at the center cooperated with the investigation. According to police, [a] video shows Coghlan pick up the toddler by an arm, move him to the side and then drop him to the ground, causing the reported injury." (cleveland.com)
