Choosing Halloween Costumes: Moms Talk

How do you and your children pick what to wear?

With October here, it's time to start thinking about Halloween.

Besides figuring out where to hide the candy for the trick-or-treaters from your children, one of the more stressful parts of Halloween is choosing a costume with your children.

When they're babies, it's easy. They can't talk, they can't have a say. But once they get older, they put those verbal skills to use.

Your son doesn't just want a superhero costume, it has to be the Captain America costume with the muscles built in. Your princess-in-training is putting said training to the test by turning up her nose at generic princess costumes and demanding a more expensive Disney Princess costume.

And does your teenaged daughter really think she's getting out of the house in that "naughty nurse" outfit?

Today, let's talk Halloween costumes. What have you seen in the stores? From Angry Birds to zombies to Don Draper, popular culture is a major influence.

Share what your children are wearing -- or want to wear -- for Halloween. Have you had to negotiate, or lay down the law?

What would you say if a trick-or-treater came to your door dressed as Snooki or Casey Anthony?

Talk amongst yourselves in the comments.
