Cleveland Clinic Avon Facility Taking Shape Inside

Less than a month from now, the new will open in Avon.

The facility, off Nagel Road just north of Interstate 90, will open Dec. 12. Between the medical offices, treatment rooms, surgical area, emergency room and all its other facilities, the building is 190,000 square feet. The emergency room will not open until after the Nagel Road interchange is completed.

About 400 people will work there.

, medical director of the center, gave a tour last week to local media. He pointed out details like the orthopedic department being on the first floor so patients would not have to walk far, and that check-in and check-out areas are separate to help ensure better communication and patient confidentiality.
