Here are the top three stories today in Avon-Avon Lake:

  1. Great sadness looms over the Avon High School community as they mourn the passing of 16-year-old Kaleb Keffer a junior at the high school. According to iHeart, "he passed away from injuries sustained in a car accident over the weekend. He was part of the Avon wrestling team. The high school's counselors, County Crisis team and staff are available to help those who need aid in dealing with this tragedy. A candlelight vigil will be held today at Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet Stadium at 9 p.m. We welcome all of our Eagle students, families and community members. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 4 at 2 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Avon High School. " (iHeart)
  2. Admission is free to this weekend's Kamm’s Corners Greek Festival, which returns to the George Varouh Cretan Club of Cleveland, 3853 W. 168th St. in Cleveland. According to cleveland.com, "the festival runs from 3 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. There will be plenty of singing, eating and dancing."   3. The 66th annual Hungarian Festival will be held this weekend in Parma. According to celeveland.com, "this is Ohio’s largest Hungarian festival! It will take place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at German Central Park, 7863 York Road in Parma. The event is presented by the American Hungarian Friends of Scouting and will feature plenty of food, live musical entertainment, colorful ethnic folk costumes, folk dance lessons and more."
