- There has been an outpouring of support shown for the family of Kaleb Keffer, a junior at Avon High School and wrestling team member who recently passed away from a tragic car accident. Steven Daugherty, the assistant coach for the Avon High School Wrestling team started a GoFundMe page to help support Keffer's family. The goal was to raise $10,000 to help the family. To date, the page has had a total of $47,959 donated. This is proof that when tragedy strikes, your community cares, and is there for you! (GoFundMe)
- Avon Lake Regional Water will close Lear Road between County Club Drive and Deerfield today starting at 8 a.m. for water main break repair. Use caution if you driving in this area. If possible, seek an alternate route and avoid the area." (City of Avon Lake, OH via Facebook)
- Bookworms take note! It's that time of year again for the Friends of ALPL Annual Fall Book Sale, which will be held on September 10 and 11. Weather permitting, the event will be outside with hundreds of gently used books, movies and more all for sale! All proceeds go to support library programs, events, and more. And the Library is welcoming book donations that can be dropped off anytime during open hours at the circulation desk. For more information, visit alpl.org." (Avon Lake Public Library via Facebook)
