1. The Avon Eagles have all done a fantastic job this spring sports season. The Girls Softball won District Championship for the first time in school history! Congrats to our Girls and Boys Lacrosse teams in the state Sweet 16 and three boys tennis players advance to the State tournament. (Facebook)
2. Congratulations to all of this year’s Avon Lake Community Council (A.L.C.C.) award recipients! They have all made a positive difference in the Avon Lake community. Herman “Bucky” Kopf received the (A.L.C.C.) Citizen of the Year Award, the D.R.E.W. Project/Marilyn Zeidner received the A.L.C.C. Project of the Year Award, and Barb Cagley, received the A.L.C.C. 3. The nationwide formula shortage has been devastating for some families. This prompted a local Bath Township Pediatrician to hold a donation drop-off at her practice located at North Cleveland Massillon Road. The idea to start these donation drop-offs originated in Willowick where Dr. Jessica Madden of Primrose Newborn Care decided to champion the effort. Residents in need through Ohio, including Avon and Avon Lake, can contact their local pediatricians for more information. (WJW FOX 8 News Cleveland)
