Crushers Swept With Loss to Slammers

Losing streak hits four games

An anemic night at the plate led to the losing, 4-1, to the Joliet Slammers Friday night at .

The Slammers swept the series and sent the Crushers to their fourth straight loss.

Andrew Davis led the Crushers with two hits, including an RBI single for their lone run. His on-base streak grew to 33 games. The Crushers were held to four hits in the game.

Randy Sturgill (4-1, 3.06 earned run average) suffered his first loss in spite of a decent performance, giving up three runs on three hits while striking out four over six innings.

The Crushers (28-34) open a series against the Washington Wild Things with a 7:05 p.m. game Saturday at All Pro Freight Stadium. Thomas Campbell (0-0, 2.38) gets the start for the Crushers.
