1. Are you going to the 'play date'? According to the Cleveland.com article, "The Village Project, based in Bay Village, will be holding a fundraiser — its first Village Project Play Date — from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 at PlayCle, located at Chester Road in Avon. Proceeds will benefit the Village Project, which provides free meals and care to those with cancer in Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Rocky River and Westlake, according to Executive Director Meredith LaVecchia. 3. According to a news release, "the Avon Democratic Club will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Aug. 11, at the Avon Senior Center at 36786 Detroit Road in Avon. The club is welcoming Fifth Congressional District candidate Craig Swartz, Ohio House District 53 Rep. Joe Miller and Ninth District Court of Appeals candidate Erica Voorhees, according to a news release. These candidates will discuss their offices, campaigns and goals for Ohio."(The Morning Journal)
